How we keep people safe.
Sidekick is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk. Everyone delivering Sidekick activity works within our safeguarding framework.
Our commitments
- All Sidekick team members and regular volunteers hold current DBS clearance appropriate to their role.
- All 1:1 work with under-18s or adults at risk is arranged in consultation with the person's setting (school, service, family).
- Any disclosure of risk to self or others is acted on, we will not keep a secret that endangers a life.
- We work openly alongside statutory services and follow local safeguarding pathways in Portsmouth and Hampshire.

Concerns are handled confidentially in line with this policy and our privacy notice. We work alongside statutory services and will share information where safeguarding or the law requires it.
