Safeguarding

Sidekick is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk. Everyone delivering Sidekick activity works within our safeguarding framework.

Our commitments

• All Sidekick team members and regular volunteers hold current DBS clearance appropriate to their role.
• All 1:1 work with under-18s or adults at risk is arranged in consultation with the person's setting (school, service, family).
• Any disclosure of risk to self or others is acted on, we will not keep a secret that endangers a life.
• We work openly alongside statutory services and follow local safeguarding pathways in Portsmouth and Hampshire.
